Parents do not want to talk to their kids about sex. Kids do not want to talk to their parents about sex. But this is all damn important information that every human on the planet needs to become a healthy and functional adult.
Only 22 states mandate sex education in schools, and only 13 require it to be medically accurate. Some states forbid accurate or useful sex education in schools (like Mississippi) and these states then of course rank the highest in teen pregnancy rates.
