This TED talk is from 2011, but Salman Khan figured it out first that classroom education needed to be reversed. Students should be watching lectures online at home, and classroom time with the teacher should be used for working on problems and collaborating with other students.
I have been a user for free learning on Khan Academy since 2012 and I have over 2 Million energy points. I plan to keep using this website for life. There are lots of free places to learn online, but Khan Academy I argue is still the most relevant. I hope I can use this website with my kids some day.
