These are some solid tips to keep a conversation going and interesting!
1) Play "reminds me of _______." Create new conversational threads from the environment or a story just told.
2) Ask opened questions like "How do you like Toronto?" rather than "Do you like Toronto?"
3) Use revival questions: "How do you guys all know each other?" "So, what's your story?" "Any exciting plans?"
4) Make a complimentary cold read. Say, "You look like the type who would be ________." Just make it positive.
5) Allow silence and pauses while still looking engaged and the other person will then come up with something to say. Mirroring is also just repeating the last couple words they said will allow them to develop on their thoughts.
