Can Language Affect Your Ability to Save?

Asian languages have obligatory language to identify specific relatives on a mother or father's side.

Some languages (like English) separate future and present verb tenses.  However, some languages, like German, are futureless languages and the theory is that this leads to greater connection with the present and the future and therefore affects people's spending and saving habits.

This guy is basically saying is that having a future tense in English makes us dissociate ourselves from our own future reality and then we fail to prepare for it.
