A Digital Aristotle for Everyone

I think CGP Grey is exactly right in this video in his prediction of what education will look like very soon.  I think we are less than 10 years away from having an all-in-one app that can teach anyone anything on their phone. 

How I imagine this would be is that students enrolled in school would have to install the app on their personal smart phone, the app would then have 100% complete control over their phone.  Students would then spend all their time interacting with and learning from the phone app.  The phone teacher would give lectures, ask comprehension questions, and would be continuously observing the student through the camera.  The app would know if the child was confused, not paying attention, struggling with a concept, or even attempting to cheat.  It would have a personality and speak in a way that engaged the student better.  The phone could also lock out games or facebook at certain times of the day until the student completes daily objectives.

Students would still go to school, but school would be exclusively for group collaboration projects and getting additional help from human teachers.  These teachers would know exactly which students needed help with which concepts as the phone apps would be providing human teachers with continuous updates on each pupil.

There is definitely cause for some concerns (lack of socialization opportunities for students perhaps), but the benefits of this coming system would far outweigh the negatives when compared to our existing education paradigm.
